If I Were Amanda Bynes Publicist

Amanda Bynes got an early start at acting in children’s shows All That and The Amanda Show.  She then made her move into movies by staring in the film Big Fat Liar at the age of 15.  She also co-starred in the popular TV show What I Like About You on the WB network and around the same time, movie What A Girl Wants.  She went on to star in hit movies She’s The Man and Hairspray and in 2007, opened her own clothing line.  In 2010, Bynes went for a sexier image and posed for Maxim magazine, while acting in another hit movie, Easy A.  Then trouble hit in 2012 when Bynes received a DUI and was allegedly involved in multiple hit and run accidents.  She continued to be falsely accused in 2013 when she was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, marijuana possession, and tampering with evidence.  Now she has decided it’s time to get back into acting!  It’s been a while since she starred in a box office hit and she’s ready to get back to work.  This fall she will be began working on her next big hit, which is set to come out in theatres in January 2014.

My marketing strategy would be to publicize Amanda Bynes latest project and decision to turn her life around and focus more on her work.  The audience I would be aiming to reach is teenagers and young adults.  The people in this age group probably grew up watching Bynes on All That and The Amanda Show.  They also probably saw at least one of her many movies.  Therefore, they were probably a fan of Bynes on some level.  Since they used to be a fan and enjoyed her work, they would be most likely be interested in knowing she was coming out with a new movie.

The campaign I would conduct would involve many media outlets.  I would schedule TV interviews and appearances for Bynes, as well as, radio interviews and magazine exclusives.  I would focus on TV appearances though and aim to remind people why they used to enjoy Bynes’s work, for her humor.  I would attempt to get her on shows such as Chelsea Lately and Saturday Night Live so she could showcase her humor and remind her fans why she’s so likeable and funny.
